Marisela Gutierrez Lopez

Senior Reserch Associate

University of Bristol

I am a post-doc researcher in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). My research interests are in applying interdisciplinary and participatory approaches to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive futures. I have extensive experience investigating the adoption of AI-driven tools in the workplace and organising participatory engagements to amplify underrepresented voices in technology.

One of my core strengths as a researcher is my background at the intersection of social sciences, design, and technology. I have a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Hasselt, Belgium. I also have an MSc in Interactive Technology from the University of Tampere, Finland, and a Bachelor in Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Mexico.

I am currently a Senior Research Associate in the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies at the University of Bristol (UK), and a fellow at the Centre for Sociodigital Futures and the Bristol Digital Futures Institute.
